Jaipur:  Former Chief Minister and BJP leader Vashundhara Raje on Saturday was unanimously re-elected as the Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly.

She had to step down from the post following the party's poor performance in Assembly and Parliamentary polls in 2009.

Assembly Speaker D S Shekhawat announced the appointment of the former chief minister as soon as the House assembled.

Raje was elected unopposed as Leader of BJP Legislature Party in Rajasthan on February 26 this year.

58-year-old Raje had to step down as the Leader of Opposition last year after the BJP's central leadership asked her to quit in the wake of the party's dismal performance in Assembly and General Elections in 2009.
