During the review meeting, Rajnath was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary (Home) Deepak Singhal, Director General of Police AL Banerjee and other officials of Home Ministry.

Rajnath instructed the officials to ensure proper security arrangements at Ram Janmabhumi Temple in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi and Krishna Janmasthal Temple in Mathura.

Meanwhile, he also expressed concern over the increasing rape cases in Uttar Pradesh and the way BJP leaders are being attacked quite often.

Once again, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has warned of possible terror attacks at Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, Ram Janma Bhoomi and  Krishna Janmasthal.

Instructions to tighten the security arrangements have also been given in this regard. After the alert issued by IB, the Uttar Pradesh government has proposed the Union Home Ministry to form an advanced control room.

Plans have also been made to install surveillance cell, CCTV camera and digital TVs separately at these designated sites.

Following the instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, Principal Secretary (Home) Deepak Singhal and DGP AL Banerjee on Friday met Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to make him aware regarding the plans.

On Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Home Secretary Vishal Chauhan told reporters about it.

In order to discuss the security issues of these religious sites, Principal Secretary (Home) and the DGP chaired a meeting with an official of the ministry.  

Meanwhile, the officers also discussed the issue of upgrading the security arrangements at the Centre.

Plans are also in the pipeline to cordon the disputed site in Ayodhya by installing a steel frame around the temple.

The Home Ministry has also provided an aid to the state government by providing an amount of Rs 150 crore for the project.
