"Had meetings with renowned clerics like Maulana Kalbe Sadiq, Maulana Kahild Rasheed and Maulana Kalbe Jawad in Lko," Singh tweeted.

The BJP chief has been seeking the support of the Muslim community, which comprises a major chunk of voters in Uttar Pradesh.

He had earlier admitted that there may have been some flaws on their part in reaching out to the Muslims.

"We believe in 'Vasudevaka-kutumbakam'. However, I admit there might have been some flaws on our part by failing to reach out to the Muslims,” he said.

The BJP president had accused the ruling Congress party of depriving educational facilities to Muslims during its several years of governance as part of a ‘conspiracy’.

"It was Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who had introduced Haj facilities," Singh said while attempting to woo the minorities ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.
