Agra: In an unveiled attack on UP Chief Minister Mayawati, former BJP national President Rajnath Singh said people want development and not parks. He claimed it is evident from BJP’s Jan Swabhiman Yatra that people want a change in the state.

While talking to reporters here on Friday, Singh said he expected a soothing outcome of the BJP rally. Albeit, annoyed over the low turnout in the Agra visit, Singh did not meet any party member on Thursday night. When the issue was raised by media persons on the following morning, the BJP leader said the good public response to the Mathura rally indicated that people are in favour of good governance in the state.

He reminded people that there was not a single scam during six and a half year term of National Democratic Alliance. “International survey agencies’ reports also suggest that the BJP is the only party which can give good governance,” he added.

Reacting to a query on BJP coalition in UP, he said the NDA has a coalition with people, not with parties.
On Team Anna’s movement, Singh said that no party should look at it from the loss or profit point of view. Even though Singh is not in favour of Prashant Bhushan’s view on Kashmir, the BJP leader condemned the attack on eminent lawyer.
