Singh was earlier scheduled to file his nomination papers on April 7 but it is understood that the date has been preponed due to some astrological reasons.

The BJP leaders, however, said the party chief will remain occupied on April 7 hence the date of filing the nomination has been changed.

The BJP president will first visit the party office at the Vidhan Sabha Marg and then proceed towards the collectorate, BJP MP from Lucknow Lalji Tandon informed.

Singh will then go to the District Mmagistrate's office and file the nomination, said Tandon.

The BJP president, who is a sitting MP from Ghaziabad, has vacated his seat for former army chief General (retired) VK Singh.

The former army chief will lock horns with Congress’ Raj Babbar and AAP’s Shazia Ilmi in this parliamentary constituency.
