New Delhi: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Wednesday suffered a jolt as the Upper House accepted the resignation of Rajya Sabha MP Sabir Ali.

Amidst a pandemonium by the political parties over the issue of inflation, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan made a formal announcement in this regard during the zero hour

Khan said, “Ali had sent his resignation to the RS Chairman Hamid Ansari who has accepted the same. Now, the LJP has only one member Ram Vilas Paswan in the Upper House.”

It is worth mentioning that Ali had joined the Janata Dal (United) following which he resigned from the Upper House.

Sources said the JD (U) has decided to field Ali in by-election for the RS seat vacated by the former LJP leader.
