New Delhi: Lok Janshakti (LJP) party chief Ram Vilas Paswan will boycott meetings of the standing committee on the Lokpal Bill till the 50% reservation for the backward classes, minorities and women be made in the draft.

Paswan said, “If the Constitution has provision of reservation even in the Parliament, Lokpal should also have the same.”

Paswan, a member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Lokpal, had sent a note of dissent to the committee chairman Manu Singhvi saying that he won't participate in the discussions.

He told reporters that he had appealed to the chairman that reservation must be provided to SC/ST, backward classes, minorities and women in the ombudsman.

In a bid to mount pressure on the government, Paswan said that he will hold demonstration along with the MPs of the Dalit minorities in front of the Parliament on December 6.

He also said that the Prime Minister should not be made a part of the Lokpal Bill in any circumstances.
