Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday announced two new schemes for youths, besides launching the free laptop and tablets scheme.

Assembly elections are due later this year. 'Mukhyamantri Yuva Swrojgar Yojna' will provide bank guarantee for loans of up to Rs 25 lakh of young entrepreneurs (between 18-35 yrs).

Moreover, the state government would also provide a five percent loan subsidy. 'Mukhyamantri Yuva Bharat Darshan Yojna' will fund visits by youths to cities across the country to see the use of new technologies.

Singh announced these schemes while addressing the 'Youth Conclave' held in Raipur. During the 'Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava' 2012 in November, the Chief Minister had announced free tablets and laptops for the students and education loans to those whose families earn up to Rs 2 lakh per annum.

Both these schemes were launched on Friday. He handed over laptops to 20 students and loan checks amounting to 3.50 crore to as many students during the function.

The state would soon introduce 'Youth Skills Development Bill' in the Assembly which will facilitate skill-based training, he said. A sports university will also be established in the state, he said, which would offer courses such as sports medicine, sports economy, sports journalism, sports psychology, etc.
