Haridwar: The tussle between the Centre and yoga guru Baba Ramdev on corruption and black money is going to be prominent with each passing day.

Ramdev has once again questioned the intention of the government after reading the response of his letter sent to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on May 4.

The yoga guru said the government in its response had not mentioned about the time frame to give more teeth to the existing laws to curb black money.

“The response to the letter which has been issued on the Finance Ministry’s official website does not give complete information on how and when the government is bringing effective law on black money and corruption,” he said.

According to sources, the government in its response to Baba’s letter listed the measures the Centre has taken to tackle the issue of black money. The letter also reads that in order to strengthen the laws related to black money, the Central government has formed a committee. The committee will prepare a report on the issues raised by Ramdev and will present it in six months.

While talking to Dainik Jagran, Balkrishnan said, “The steps taken by the Centre are the result of the Baba's campaign. The Centre has not only agreed to enact or amend the laws in order to declare the illegally earned money as a national property and give harsh punishment to the accused, but it has also declared it on the official website of the Ministry of Finance.”
