Haridwar: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who launched a crusade against black money and corruption, has felt some relief with the Supreme Court’s decision to set up Special Investigation Team (SIT) for probing the black money issue.

Ramdev on Monday hailed the Supreme Court's decision to constitute SIT for proper investigation of black money as historic.

While referring to the Supreme Court’s decision as a lesson slapped on government’s face, Ramdev said, “If the government does not change its attitude even after the SC’s decision, public will have to take up the charge of teaching a lesson to it.”

“With this historic decision of the Apex Court, people will once again repose their trust in justice system of the country,” he added.

“If the government had agreed to his genuine demands mentioned in the letter sent to the Prime Minister, it wouldn’t have to face this day,” Baba said.

“The Supreme Court’s decision clearly proves that a democratic government has no right to suppress the protest which has been laid in favour of national and public interests. If the government does so, it is obvious the government has malafide intention,” he said.

While talking on Anna Hazare’s Lokpal Bill, Ramdev said the government’s reaction on the Bill depicts about its wrong intentions. The government is under the pressure of developed nations and trying to suppress protest against corruption and the demands for strong Lokpal.”

The Apex Court on Monday set up a Special Investigation Team, headed by former SC Judge B P Jeevan Reddy, to probe and monitor steps taken to bring unaccounted money back home.
