Haridwar: After fraying relation with yoga guru Baba Ramdev in the wake of waging war against the Centre on issues of corruption and black money, the Congress announced that it would boycott his yoga camp and protest against it.

Seeking probe into Ramdev’s assets, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh also demanded action against the yoga guru under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Retaliating to Singh’s remark, Ramdev’s close aide Acharya Balakrishnan said that yoga is not individual’s legacy. “This is legacy of our saints and the people who consider them as their forefathers will surely practice yoga,” said Balakrishnan.

On Digvijay’s demand for probe under PMLA, he said, “Digvijay is mentally disturbed and there is no justification of these allegations.”

Ramdev is set to launch yoga camp at Patanjali Yogapeeth from July 1.

The Congress has decided to boycott the camp. City president OP Chauhan, president of women’s cell Vimla Pandey along with other leaders said that Ramdev was indulging into politics in the name of yoga camp.

They termed him as BJP’s agent and said he misguided public. After the Congress’ call to boycott camps, Patanjali Yogapeeth is also in attacking mode.
