Indore: Coming to the rescue of his friend Karim Morani, who is accused in 2G spectrum scam and is languishing in jail, Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan said yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s crusade against corruption and black money is a politically motivated move.

Meanwhile, Ramdev has refuted the allegations levelled agianst  him by the Bollywood super star. Ramdev said, "We are not against any political party or individual. I am appealing to parties to join us."

Denying his support to Ramdev’s protest against black money, King Khan asserted that he will not participate or encourage any political gimmick. In a promotional event of his film Ra. One at Indore, Khan maintained that ‘satyagraha’ was not the right way to protest against anything.

On being questioned about Ramadev’s satyagrah, he said, “I believe that every individual should do his work. If I am an actor, I will do acting. If people start doing work of each other, the entire system will collapse.” He further added, “Being a Yoga guru, Ramdev’s work is to teach yoga to people rather than taking to streets. Tomorrow if I also protest on streets, will it have any conclusions?”

He said sending the right message to the masses through work is more important.

Citing examples of his movies-‘Chak De’ and ‘My Name is Khan’- the actor said they tried to convey a message through the films.

“My father was a freedom fighter due to this I have many political connections. I do meet Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, but this does not mean I will plunge into politics. My work is acting and I will continue to do so,” he mentioned.

Meanwhile, he also advised Ramdev to concentrate on yoga.

It should be learnt that rifts between Baba Ramdev and Shah Rukh are not new. Last year, Ramdev had criticized Khan during his tussle with Shiv Sena over release of ‘My name is Khan’.

Attacking Shiv Sena and Khan in 2010, Ramdev then in Raipur had said that people were looking into their benefits. “People are talking about Naxalism, religion but no one is ready to talk about corruption,” he had said.

After Khan criticized decision of not including Pakistani players in Indian Premier League-3, Ramdev had said the actor was only looking for financial gains by vouching for Pak players in the edition.
