Film: Ram-Leela

Ram-Leela had evoked criticism for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and held on the grounds of containing explicit scenes and vulgar sex.  A Delhi court had stayed the release of the movie following a suit filed by six petitioners, including Prabhu Samaj Dharmik Ram Leela Committee. The plea also said since the term Ram Leela is associated with Lord Ram, movie-goers would expect to be watching a religious film. The petitioners had requested to change the name of the film as it has nothing to do with mythology. Producer-director Sanjay Leela Bhansali clarified in a statement issued to the media on Wednesday that the movie’s title is about the characters played by Deepika and Ranveer. It has nothing to do with Lord Ram and Krishna.

Story line:

Setting in the milieu of Gujrat Ram-Leela is truly a romantic movie with sizzling chemistry of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
While Leela (Deepika Padukone) is a witty and passionate village Juliet, Ram is the charming Romeo with a chiseled body. Though Ram and Leela live in the same village, their families have developed hatred for each other for the past 500 years. When Ram and Leela meet for the first they fell in love. Ram-Leela is a saga of vengeance, war and blood where the both love birds fight a war against the cruel world to live their dreams. Ram-Leela is the first movie where Ranveer and Deepika are seen as on screen couple.

Besides donning the hat of director, Bhansali has also composed music for Ram-Leela. Expectations from the audio of Ram-Leela are huge because Sanjay Leela Bhansali proved his mettle in composing songs in movies like Khamoshi and Guzaarish. Sanjay Leela Bhansali who always wooed the hearts of audience with a refreshing storyline, opulent and colorful movie sets and last but not the least with great music has dedicated this movie to his mother. “This is a very special and important film for me. I made it for my mother. I would like to thank Deepika, who plays Leela in the film and she has played it so well," Bhansali said.

According to reports, Ram Chahe Leela'' is the much laudable dance number picturised on Priyanka Chopra,  crossed over one million hits on internet within three days of its release.

Priyanka took to Twitter to thank them for liking her new dance number in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directorial. 1.
"Milestones..Yesterday 'Exotic sales'! Today 'Ram chahe leela' (crosses) one million (hits) in just three days….. Thank you all so much," she posted on her Twitter account.

While praising Bhansali for being an utter perfectionist, leading lady Deepika said that he doesn't settle for anything less what he has in mind. "He has a vision and everyone works towards that. So, it obviously has been a very tough journey, as exciting and challenging as it was, it has also been quite tough. So to see all of that come together, I did get a little emotional," she said in an interview.  This is Deepika's first film with Bhansali and she described him as a magician.

While Deepika gives most of the credit to Bhansali, actor Ranveer Singh said that his chemistry with the leading lady is the mainstay of the story. “We were destined to be cast opposite each other. It's chemistry between Romeo and Juliet. I hope it works as our chemistry is the driving force of the story," Ranveer told reporters.
