New Delhi: Keeping abreast with the fast changing lifestyle and trends, the Ramlila Committee organizers of Delhi have decided to go high-tech this time.

Nonstop scenes, collar mikes, use of computer and net service are amongst the few positive additions to this year’s Ramlila to keep the viewers glued to their seats.

Each organizer is competing with other to come up with some unique and interesting change. Ashok Vihar’s Ramlila will showcase many contemporary changes. There will be nonstop scenes with three simultaneous programmes. Hence, when one scene will be finished, lights falling at the back stage will become automatically on and within 5 to 10 seconds next scene will be started.

Each performer will have collar mikes this time, hence no artist requires any extra mike on stage.

“New technologies will be used this time” says Dr Mahendra Nagpal, President of Ashok Vihar Ramlila committee, phase-1.

“Computerised systems will be installed to prepare stages in accordance with the scenes. These computers will provide effects for thunder, jungles, fog and rains,” he added.

Lavkush Ramlila committee, who organizes Ramlila in Lalqila maidan have changed all its previous artistes. President of the committee, Sukhveer Sharan Agarwal says “Ramlila will be presented with new excitement”.
Arjun Kumar, a prominent member of the committee informs that the Ramlila will be seen in the entire world via internet. “This time Ramlila’s gate will resemble Eiffel tower.”

According to Rahul Sharma, advertising secretary of Navshree Dharmik Ramlila committee, “New programmes will be added this time, which will include bhajan sandhya, Rasleela, dance and play on Sunderkand and family dandiya”.

“In addition to these, there are three more proposals we are considering but nothing is finalized as of now,” He added.

Preparations underway for Ramlila


Ramlila preparations are at its peak in outer Delhi, with grand pandals and modern decorations. Nearby the stage, there are separate arrangements for cracker bursting. Along with the idols of Raavan, Meghnaad and Kumbhkaran, a grand effigy of corruption has also been prepared.

Shree Ramlila committee of Rohini sector 3 has prepared grand pandals with 70 feet idol of Raavan and 65 feet idol of Kumbhkaran and Meghnaad.

Rohini sector 15-16, at dividing road is also fully involved in preparation. One side of the 3 acre ground has a grand pandal, whereas the other side includes idol and cracker bursting preparations.

Nav shree Keshav Ramlila committee in Rohini sector 11 has 60-feet idol of Raavan and 55 feet Kumbhkaran and Meghnath. New addition this season would be Chinese crackers to produce special lights and sound.
