Ranchi: The people from minority communities in Jharkhand are deprived of loans from National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC). NMDFC has appointed Jharkhand State Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation as its agency to provide loans to the minorities in the state. But it is ironical that the appointed agency has been inactive for the past three years which is largely responsible for sanctioning of loans to the needy people in the state.

Notably, the NMDFC had allocated funds to its agency to provide educational loans and micro-financing for three consecutive financial years of 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12. An NGO Insaf recently handed over a memorandum to Chief Minister Arjun Munda urging him to look into the matter to ensure providing funds to the minorities.
