Jaipur: Dissent amongst the Congress members of Rajasthan is on the rise. Though the Congress State Government led by Ashok Gehlot has completed two and a half years in power, party members are not too pleased with the recent developments within the organisation.

Ministers are annoyed with the reshuffling of the Cabinet, whereas legislators and Congress members are aggrieved of not getting their desired posts of party’s district and block presidents.

Following the discontent among the cadres of Rajasthan Congress Committee, the high command has not yet announced the names of party presidents in eight districts. Meanwhile, party members have already raised their objections over the appointment of 31 district Congress presidents.

The situation has dipped to the extent that the Congress members do not shy from criticising party decision in public. They have expressed their dissatisfaction to the senior party members in Delhi.

Former Vice President of the State Congress Committee, Dr Hari Singh has already made a belligerent statement in this context. He has recently claimed that loyal Congress members had been ignored and there were several irregularities in the appointment of district and block presidents. "Party has sidelined me, I will not forgive them," Singh added. He pointed out that corruption is rampant in the tenure of Congress government.

Taking action against Singh's statement, State Congress president has issued notice him to clarify the reasons for making the statement. Singh also announced to soon forward his resignation to party supremo Sonia Gandhi.

Whereas, few Congress Member of Parliament, were disappointed on the ignorance of the names suggested by them for the party posts. Parliamentarian Raghuveer Meena, Pandit Naval Kishore Sharma and Panchayti Raj Minster of State, Bharat Singh are among the prominent Congress leaders of Rajasthan who are annoyed with the recent appointments on key party posts.

Naval Kishore Sharma also raised his objection when his nephew Vinod Bihari Sharma was not elected as Congress President of Dausa. After the interference by Union Minister Sachin Pilot, the selection of District President for Dausa has been put to halt.

On Friday, MP Tarachand Bhagora, few legislators and party members met Cabinet Minister Mahendra Jeet Singh at his residence. Thereafter, the senior party members met Chief Minister to raise their objections on this issue.
