"I request you. Don't stop giving bribe to MCD officials and police personnel. Our government has launched an anti-corruption helpline number for dealing with such issues. You can record the official taking bribe with the help of your phone. I assure you that after getting such evidence, such corrupt persons would be sent to jail," the Chief Minister said.
He was addressing 'Rahari Patri Sansad - Street Vendors' Parliament' organized by National Association of Street Vendors of India in protest against allegedly being extorted by MCD and police officials.

Kejriwal claimed that officials of different departments had stopped taking bribe after the AAP government came to power, but it seemed MCD officials and policemen had not followed suit.

"We have got to know that since AAP has formed government in Delhi, officials of different departments have stopped taking bribe. But, MCD officials and police personnel have so far not stopped taking bribe from street vendors," Kejriwal said.

The Chief Minister said he would write to Commissioner of Police and three mayors of MCD informing them about the Supreme Court September, 2013 order which said until vending zones are not created for street vendors, they cannot be prevented from running their business in the national capital.

He also emphasized on coming up with a plan for ensuring that street vending does not disrupt traffic and ensured the hawkers that his government would look into their concerns.
