BJP MP from Jammu, Jugal Kishore Sharma, raised the matter during Zero Hour and said people were facing hardship in the state and giving them jobs there could help them.
He said the civilians along the bordering areas of Jammu and Kashmir often faced unprovoked firing from the Pakistan side in which houses are damaged and cattle destroyed. The local children also do not get proper nutrition.
"(Recruitment) camps should be set up in Jammu and Kashmir and local youths given priority in recruitment in BSF, CRPF or CISF and ensure that they are posted in that area. These youth will then be able to take care of their people and it will also ensure that they do not migrate to other areas. This will help deal with the problem of migration," he said.
Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJD) demanded allocation of Chhendipada and Chhendipada-II coal blocks in favour of state PSU Odisha Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (OTPCL). The allocation will make available cheap power to the people of Odisha where demand for electricity is growing rapidly, Mahtab said, adding that these coal blocks could be given in lieu of Tentulai coal blocks.
