However,Karnataka Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda has clarified that there will be no Deputy Chief Minister in his Cabinet. In order to appease everyone including his detractors, Gowda has assured to provide the Cabinet Minister equal respect and importance.
Refuting the allegations levelled on him in land allotment scam, the CM candidly said that no one including himself was above the law and vowed to continue his fight against corruption.
During his first Delhi visit after assuming the charge of Chief Minister, Gowda meet senior RSS leaders and BJP stalwarts.
Though these were informal meetings, they also held a political significance.
Under the situation in which Gowda was made the Chief Minister, he seems well aware about the hurdles which lie in his path. According to sources, Gowda may expand his cabinet soon and the meeting with party seniors is being termed important in this regard.
Gowda also met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and several Minister to raise the demand for a development package for Karnataka.
Meanwhile,BJP leader Anant Kumar and Reddy brothers are lobbying hard to get their representatives named for the remaining 12 portfolios in the state Cabinet. In this regard, Kumar and former national president of BJP Venkaiah Naidu met with Lal Krishna Advani.
Janardhan Reddy,who had been the state Tourism Minister in BS Yeddyurappa government, is also camping in Delhi to get some of his candidates inducted in the state Cabinet.
