Chandigarh: Terming the allegations imposed by state Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh as baseless and false in the issue of chargesheets filed against Congress men, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday asked the Opposition leader to refrain himself from making such baseless comments as the government is ready for any probe in the entire episode.

“The state government has not filed any false charges against any Congress men. This is mere propaganda of the Opposition to defame our government. If there is any such case then it (Opposition) must bring it into my notice. I will conduct a thorough probe into it,” said the Chief Minister.

Captain Singh has accused the SAD-BJP government of filing over 50,000 false cases against the Congress men during their previous tenure.

Taking a dig at the Congress leader, Badal said, “The Opposition has raised the baseless issue twice in the Assembly but failed to derive any result as everything was false and just a political stunt to defame the SAD-BJP alliance government in Punjab. He (Captain Singh) must refrain himself from making such irresponsible arguments and should only make any statement with ample proof in it.”
