Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday announced to increase the refreshment allowance being given to cadets of National Cadet Corps (NCC) for parades from Rs 6 to Rs 25 per cadet per day.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between Hooda and Director General, NCC, Lt Gen P S Bhalla here on Tuesday, an official release said.

It was decided in principle to set up an NCC Academy in the state, it added.

Hooda also approved the setting up of a new NCC group Headquarters at Hisar, NCC Girls Battalion at Nuh in district Mewat and NCC (mixed) Battalion at Sirsa.

With this, the number of NCC units in the state will rise to 25. At present 20 NCC Battalions and two NCC Group Headquarters are operational in the state with as many as 34,000 cadets getting such training in different educational institutions of the state.
