Jammu: Accusing the Omar Abdullah government of maintaining double-standards over the multi-crore scam in Jammu Kashmir Cricket Association (KJCA), PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Friday reiterated her demand to register an FIR against Union Minister Farooq Abdullah, who is also the president of JKCA.

Speaking to media outside the state Assembly, she said, “Officers have only been expelled, not a single arrest has been made till date. Why so? This showcases the double- standard adopted by the government in matters relating to corruption. Farooq Abdullah has failed to look into the corruption cases in JKCA. A complaint must be lodged against him.”

The scam allegedly involves siphoning off funds to the tune of Rs.24.64 crore, meant for cricket by creating bogus accounts.

“If IOA president Suresh Kalmadi has been sent to jail in CWG scam, then why hasn’t an FIR been lodged against KJCA president,” she pointed out.

Meanwhile, in an attempt to defend the Omar government, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Sagar said, “Mehbooba Mufti’s allegations are baseless. She speaks whatever comes to her mind.”
