Ghaziabad: In order to ease the congestion at one of the busiest routes in Ghaziabad, the Hindon Bridge constructed at National Highway 58 will be opened for commuters on January 1st.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Singh Yadav will inaugurate the bridge, told Ghaziabad Development Authority vice-chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav.

Apart from this, low-floor DTC buses will ply from district roads to Shivaji Stadium. In 2011, GDA took the initiative and constructed third bridge to ensure smooth traffic flow while the Union Road Transport Ministry didn’t take interest in the project.

Initially Rs 27 crore had been allocated for the construction of the bridge. Later the budget was increased to 31 crore. After reviewing the construction work of the bridge, Santosh Kumar Yadav decided to open it for the common people on the New Year.
