Presenting his second Rail Budget in  the Parliament, Suresh Prabhu said, “3 R's of Railways-  Restructure, Reorganise, Rejunivate are the mantras of developing rail sector“.

“We hope to generate revenues to the order of Rs 1,84,820 crore”, Prabhu added.

Meanwhile, before presenting budget in the Parliament, he said, public expectations from the Railway Budget 2016 are quite high.

While railway finances are under major strain, the option to raise passenger and freight fares will not be easy for the minister, at a time when four states are going to polls and diesel prices are falling along with global crude oil rates.
