Rohtak: A retired Inspector of Haryana Police was gunned down by three unidentified assailants at Shastri Nagar locality near Hisar road in Rohtak on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Ram Kishan Dahiya, who had retired from service last month, and the killers managed to flee from the spot. The incident took place when Ram Kishan had gone to his under-construction house at Shastri Nagar locality.

According to the complaint lodged by his son, 3 youth got down from a car and opened fire on Dahiya from a close range. He died on the spot, said the police. The police sent the body to PGIMS for postmortem.
The exact motive behind the murder will be ascertained after preliminary investigation. Statements of the kin of the deceased and labourers present at the under-construction house at the time of the crime are being recorded to get the clue about the killers, said the police.
The police have registered a case of murder against three unidentified youths on the complaint of the deceased’s son.
