Several BJP workers, said to be supporter of Captain Aabhimanyu staged protest outside the party headquarters in Delhi. On the other hand, BJP workers in Lucknow are upset over inclusion of former Congress leader Jagdambika Pal in the party. They asked the party high command to replace Jagdambika Pal from Dumuriyaganj seat.

The protesting workers alleged that the ex-Congress leader played an instrumental role in bringing down Kalyan Singh government back in 1998. Later, he became chief minister just for a day. Even senior BJP leader and former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee sat on dharna over the issue.

Upset over the decision to give ticket to Ravindra Kushwaha from Salempur seat, the angry party workers also burnt the effigy of BJP president Rajnath Singh.
One group was demanding ticket for ex-prime minister Chandrashekhar’s son and another was batting for former MLA Ram Iqbal Singh. Both factions maintained that the decision to issue ticket to Ravindra Kushwaha in Salempur constituency is ‘unjustifiable’.

Earlier, the party workers took their anger out on streets in the national capital fielding Dalit leader Udit Raj in West Delhi constituency. A similar scenario was witnessed in Chandigarh where the party workers demanded replacement of Bollywood actress Kirron Kher with a local candidate.

It needs to be mentioned here that bickering and resentment over distribution of tickets is nothing new in saffron camp and the party has witnessed similar embarrassments in the past as well.

Fissures appear in BJP’s Jharkhand unit

The battle over distribution of tickets in BJP seems to be traversing across the nation and even party’s Jharkhand unit is facing jitters. The party workers voiced their displeasure over naming of Sunil Singh from Chatra constituency in Ranchi. They were demanding a local candidate. The workers made it clear that they won’t support Sunil Singh.

Meanwhile, Majhgaon MLA Barkunwar Singh, who was also showing signs of dissent has mellowed down after holding talks with Lakshman Giluwa and state secretary Amarpreet Singh.

It’s being said that ex-MP Brajmohan Ram and party’s state president of Scheduled Caste Morcha is quite upset for not getting ticket from Palamu and is in touch with All Jharkhand Students Union for the past few days.

Local unit against BJP candidate from Mainpuri

Things are not looking good for BJP in Mainpuri as well where the local unit has shown its back to party’s official candidate SS Chauhan. No office-bearer of the party was present during the inauguration of his election office on Wednesday. District president Shivdutt Bhadauria has also voiced his opposition against Chauhan out in open.

Shivdutt has urged the party leadership to replace Chauhan with a new candidate. The district president of party’s Scheduled Caste Morcha has even threatened to quit if the candidate is not replaced.
