New Delhi: The Congress party seems to be divided , reason being the party’s poor show in recently concluded Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

The Congress is striving hard to realize it Mission 2014, but there is no consensus in the party over the reasons behind the debacle.

Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi blamed the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee for party’s debacle in the assembly polls. He justified the ticket distribution and poll campaign in the assembly polls.

AK Antony-led three member committee constituted on the direction of party chief Sonia Gandhi seems to be sharing different views over Team Rahul’s outcome over poll fiasco.

Antony committee cited the wrong ticket distribution as one of the main reasons behind the party’s poor performance in the state assembly election. Interestingly, the party also unimaginably shown dismal performance in the constituencies of Union Ministers and senior MPs.

The wrong ticket distribution can be gauged with the fact that the party fielded 170 candidates who joined the grand old party after the 2009 general elections when the party won 22 seats.

The party decision spread wrong message among its workers who got dispirited. This marred the poll prospect of the Congress in the UP assembly polls.
