London: When it comes to digital sales, Rihanna rules the roost as the ‘Umbrella’ hit-maker has piped Black Eyed Peas and Eminem to be named as the best-selling artiste.
The singer has moved nearly 50 million digital downloads despite being in the music business for only six years, reported a daily.
That's more than any other artist in history and five million more than second best sellers, The Black Eyed Peas, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
Since her debut album Music of the Sun was released in 2005, Rihanna has moved a total of 47.5 million digital tracks. In 2011 alone, the 'You Da One' singer sold 13.9 million digital copies.
The singer may perform well on iTunes and other download websites, there are not many takers for her actual CDs. Her top-selling disc, Good Girl Gone Bad, which included the mega-hit 'Umbrella', sold only 2.7 million copies in the US to date.
The other best-selling artists in the digital world are Eminem, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Kanye West and Britney Spears.
