Los Angeles: Their disturbing split left Rihanna with a badly bruised face and almost ended Chris Brown's career but the R&B superstar says she is no longer angry with her ex for assaulting her.
Brown, 21, is serving five years of probation after pleading guilty to felony assault for the attack on the pop star a day before the 2009 Grammys.
Rihanna, however, has moved on from the tragedy and harbours no hard feelings for Brown.
"It was way too much anger. I'm really excited to see the breakthrough he's had in his career," Rihanna told the magazine as she posed nude for their cover.
Immediately after the assault, Brown's career took a nosedive as he was banned from radios, dropped out of advertisements and saw his album flop. But things have started looking up for him and Rihanna is happy with the way his career has shaped up.
"It's incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he's putting out. I'm a fan of his stuff. I've always been a fan," said Rihanna about her ex.
"I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have," she added.
