Los Angeles: R&B star Rihanna says Adele's Grammy winning album's heartbreaking lyrics struck too much of a chord with her and she had to give herself a break from her songs.

The 24-year-old says she could identify with the lyrics of the record breaking album '21' and eventually had to stop listening to it, as reported.

"I love her (Adele). I'm a big fan...Her last album, 21, spoke to me so much. I feel like everyone in the world identified with 21, to the point that I had to stop listening because it was depressing me so much. If you identify with it, sometimes you don't want to hear about it," Rihanna said.

The singer, who has a very rough break-up with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, recently said she wants to start dating again.

"I have such incredible experiences in my life. But you want to share your life with someone. That's what I'm missing right now," she added.
