"We cannot allow the insurgent groups from North-East to take advantage of our state for carrying their anti-social activities and I have suggested all the forces including Army, Air force, state police, ITBP and other central paramilitary forces to work in close co-ordination," the MP from Arunachal Pradesh said while addressing mediapersons in Itanagar.
    
He said that the NDA government was committed to establish peace in the region and initiate several initiatives to bring lasting peace in the region.
    
"There will be no development sans peace and my ministry is trying to initiate peace talks with various outfits of the region. We are going to appoint an interlocutor soon to initiate peace talks with the NSCN (IM)," he added.
    
When his attention was drawn towards the border dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, Rijiju said that the NDA government was initiating all possible measures not only to get rid of the insurgency problem in the region. He added that the Centre was also trying to establish peace among the people of both the neighbouring states.
    
Commenting on police modernization, he disclosed that various innovative schemes were in the pipeline to make the state police competent enough to tackle any situation.
