Raising the issue in Zero Hour, Ram Kripal Yadav said that 54 lakh people have been affected by floods at 20 districts in Bihar and 160 persons have already lost their lives.
"State government has not taken adequate steps to help the flood affected people," he said, adding that crops and livelihood of several thousand people got damaged in the floods.
He demanded that a Central team should be immediately sent to Bihar to assess the damage and also asked for Central aid to the flood affected.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the state government has not made adequate arrangements and associated him with the issue raised by Yadav. Samajwadi Party leader Naresh Agarwal pointed to flood situation in parts of Uttar Pradesh while some others spoke of similar situation prevailing in Assam and Punjab.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla said that the Central government is concerned about the flood situation in some parts of the country.

Rajeev Shukla said that Bihar is being provided money under the backward region grant fund and also said that suggestions of the members would be conveyed to concerned departments.
