New Delhi: Leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal in the Bihar Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui has once again raised the issue of killing of backward caste labourer in Gaya district last month by stating that the crime against Dalits, women, backward castes and minorities have increased in the last seven years of the Nitish Kumar regime.

Sita Ram Prasad, an extremely backward class man was killed in Gaya on March 17. He alleged that there has been a phenomenal increase in the atrocities on Dalits, weaker and poor sections of the society.

Siddiqui said, “The state government has failed to ensure an independent and proper inquiry into his death. His wife had complained that instead of fair investigation, police had tried to push up the case in connivance with the owner of the brick kiln.”

The RJD leader said that he had requested Nitish Kumar to ensure an impartial inquiry into Sita Ram’s death case. He has also asked Kumar to take stern action against the securitymen who had allegedly tried to cover up the case.
