New Delhi: Even after striking a chord on the alliance, the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and the Congress have met with a difference in opinion over joint poll campaign.

Keeping this in mind, the RLD has stepped up its preparation by announcing six candidates for upcoming elections and is planning to release the remaining names of candidates in a day or two.

Shahnawaz Rana, who had recently left BSP to join RLD, has been given nomination from Bijnaur constituency while Mohammad Azam Quraisi will contest from Sambhal.

However the RLD chief Ajit Singh has not clarified on the number of seats it would contest on. But it is believed that the RLD will fight on 45 seats in the Assembly polls.

The first list of 17 candidates was announced by the party on December 19.

Party leaders said more lists would be announced in the coming days though they did not divulge the number of seats it would be contesting.

The RLD does not want to delay its poll preparations waiting for a nod from the Congress for a joint poll campaign.
