“India is an important market. It is definitely not the biggest market but I think the market in general has the potential to grow in the next couple of years,” Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Chief Executive Torsten Mueller-Oetvoes told PTI at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

According to him, Rolls-Royce has been selling 70-80 cars a year in India.

“Let us wait and see how that develops in future. My hope is that we also see a three digits number in India. The potential is there,” he added.

Highlighting the significance of the Indian market, Mueller-Oetvoes said: “When I talk about India, we have a long standing relationship. It is a historic relationship, where Rolls-Royce was first in, outside of the UK.”

He further said: “We also feel very obliged and to be in good contact with India and also to grow our business in the Indian market.”

He also pointed out that hospitality segment was one area where the company was looking for more clients, though it is not a “massive” contributor to the global sales of the company.

“In general it (hospitality) is something which we have very good clients...It is not massive. We have quite good and continuous business with hotels but it is not a big business,” he said.
