New Delhi: The Centre allocated Rs 100 crore for Ladakh region for implementation various of projects identified by a taskforce.

In the General Budget presented on Monday, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee announced Rs 100 crore for various projects suggested by the Jadhav Committee.

The Special Taskforce for Development of Ladakh, headed by Narendra Jadhav, Planning Commission member, submitted a report to the government in January identifying projects worth over Rs 416 crore that could be implemented in a period two years. Among the projects recommended include construction of culverts, small bridges and roads connecting remote villages and hamlets in the region.
