Ranchi: Jharkhand police have announced a cash reward of upto Rs 12 lakh on the head of hardcore Maoists. "The upper limit is Rs 12 lakh and the lowest is Rs 30,000," Inspector General of Police S N Pradhan said.

Those having any information could call up the numbers of senior police officers given on the police website, he said.

Out of 150 hardcore Maoists, a list of 111 rebels, including 30 from other state, was released by the police headquarters, he said.

The ultras, belonging to other states, and indulged in violence in Jharkhand had also carried the cash awards, he said.

Jharkhand police have been successful in luring many rebels into accepting government’s surrender policy and nabbed several important Maoist leaders in the last one year.
