Jamshedpur: In a shocking exposure, the probing agency Central Bureau of Investigation has revealed that the iron ore transportation scam in Jharkhand has dented the state revenue to the tune of Rs 750 crore.

In 2010, the CBI has unearthed a mining firm which allegedly defrauded the Railways in transportation of iron ore meant for commercial activities by making false declaration about its usage.

According to sources, the CBI also suspects involvement of senior level officials of South Eastern Railway (SER) and Forest Department in the bungling.

The investigating agency detected that certain industrial units were transporting iron ore through the Chakradharpur Division of SER declaring the material was for domestic consumption or internal use.

Jamshedpur MLA Dr Ajay Kumar told Dainik Jagran that he will bring the issue in the Lok Sabha and will further write letter to the Prime Minister and the Lok Sabha Speaker seeking their intervention into the matter.
