New Delhi: The internal rift within the NDA over the prime ministerial candidate does not seem to die down. Recently, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed to BJP chief Nitin Gadkari to make sure that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is not declared as NDA candidate for prime ministership.

The BJP too has assured Nitish Kumar that a decision in this regard will be taken after consulting NDA allies. Meanwhile the RSS has created a fresh hurdle for Narendra Modi by praising Nitish Kumar’s government. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said that Bihar is far ahead of Gujarat in matters relating to good governance.
The RSS chief further said that there was a time when Gujarat was considered to be a role model in terms of development and good governance but Nitish Kumar ruled Bihar is now growing faster.

In a state where all hopes of development had dimmed, Nitish Kumar did an overwhelming job and created a new model of development.

The RSS chief made the comments while addressing a press conference attended by foreign journalists in Delhi.

According to sources he also expressed satisfaction with the performance of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh governments.

The comments made by RSS chief is being seen as an effort to normalise the strained relationship between BJP and its one of the oldest ally JD-U over the question of ideology.

The RSS wants the JD U-BJP alliance to remain intact. It realizes that Nitish’s support is vital to the BJP in the upcoming general elections.

However, Bhagwat refused to comment on the BJP’s choice of prime ministerial candidate saying it is up to the BJP and NDA to decide.
