New Delhi: The chasm between the saffron brigade leaders have deepened even further as Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) has maintained distance from LK Advani’s Jan Chetna Yatra, which has proved a crowd puller.

The RSS is supporting the yatra but from a distance as the organisation is upset with the wrangling in the BJP cadres. Even though, the RSS has prepared an outline map for the party till next Lok Sabha elections, the BJP doesn’t seem to be following it.

The RSS is also unhappy with the BJP strategy in tackling the corruption issue.

According to sources, the RSS has decided that the BJP will not present any leader as a potential PM candidate before the next Lok Sabha polls. In this view, Advani already made it clear that the yatra had no link with the Prime Ministerial post. However, the support to the yatra has helped in increasing his political stature.

Although the yatra is reaping benefits for the BJP, the RSS has distanced itself from it. After last year Lok Sabha elections, the RSS had handled the reins of the party.

The RSS took decisions for the BJP like removing Advani from Opposition leader in the Lower House, making Nitin Gadkari as BJP national president, reinstating Uma Bharti and giving responsibility to Sanjay Joshi in the organization.

After intervention of the RSS also, the BJP infighting is not subsiding. The RSS has taken serious note of the distance maintained by BJP leader Narendra Modi at the national level.

The RSS is also upset with the way the BJP handled the Yeddyurappa issue.
