Kolkata: Confusion has shrouded the Right to Information Act after Union Company Affairs Minister Veerappa Moily has stressed for modification in the Act.
However, Union Law minister Salman Khurshid was entrusted with the responsibility to settle down the confusion created by the Prime Minister’s remark on the misuse of the RTI and need of amendments to it.

Even after Khursid refused any kind of amendments to the Act, Moily comment has again created flutter.
Moily, who was in the city to attend two different sessions on corporate governance organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce, said, “It has become an instrument of oppression or an instrument to blackmail the companies.”

However he ruled out any possibility of amendments in the near future.
