Ranchi: The State Congress meeting here on Tuesday saw unruly scenes as rival factions of the party created ruckus in the meeting and targeted Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Pradeep Balmuchu.

The heated exchange of words soon gave way to fist fight between the supporters of rival factions.
MLA Chandra Shekhar Dubey boycotted the meeting and left the meeting with his supporters.

As per reports, the working chairman of state congress, Furqan Ansari, alleged that the party under the leadership of Balmuchu has become subservient to its ally Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM).

He charged Balmuchu and party secretary Madan Mohan Sharma of running the party as per their whims and fancies. He demanded the central high command to remove Balmuchu and appoint a new state president soon.

Targeting Balmuchu former MLA Sukhdev Bhagat alleged, “Balmuchu is conspiring against me as he wants to remove me from party.”

Trying to bridge the gap between the rival factions, state general secretary Rajesh Kumar Shukla said that leaders of the party would have rise above personal differences in the interest of the party. He also advised that congress must field its candidate in the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha by election.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and Jharkhand in-charge Shakeel Ahmed said that the situation in the state is similar to that of West Bengal. He advised the state leaders to corner the BJP government on the ongoing demolition drive in the state.

“A survey will be conducted about congress ticket seekers in every constituency and party tickets will be distributed on that basis,” he said.

He also made it clear until a new president is appointed Balmuchu would continue to be the state Congress president.
