Jaipur: Infamous for his scornful remarks about President Pratibha Patil, Rajasthan Waqf and Minority Minister Amin Khan has again landed himself in controversy after the Home Ministry bent rules for his Pakistan visit.

The Union Home Ministry apparently bent rules for the state Minister Amin Khan allowing him to board the Thar Express from Munabao. According to reports, the permission was granted ignoring the objections of security agencies.

According to rules, nobody is allowed to board the train from Munabao station and all passengers are required to get into the train from Bhagat ki Kothi railway station in Jodhpur. But in case of the Minister, norms were flouted to allow him to board the train from Munabao on Saturday.

Munabao is the last railway station in the Indian territory in Barmer district.

The Home Ministry granted special permission to the Minister to board the train from Munabao station.
One has to cover a distance of 327 kilometers to board the train from Munabao station in Barmer to Bhagat ki Kothi railway station in Jodhpur.

The weekly train starts from Jodhpur every Friday night and reaches Munabao on Saturday morning.
However, the Minister clarified, “Why should I travel 700 km to Jodhpur to board the train when it passes from here and stops here for security check up.”

When contacted, Railways PRO Lalit Bohra refused to comment saying that the matter related to Home and External Affairs Ministry. Amin Khan visited Gogasar in Pakistan by Thar Express to condole the death of his brother-in-law. Gogasar is barely 4 km away from the international border.

MP from Jaisalmer-Barmer constituency has raised the issue several times in Lok Sabha demanding that passengers be allowed to board the train from Munnabao giving them relief from travelling several hundred kilometers.
