New Delhi: The BJP blamed Planning Commission member Saeda Hameed for allegedly misusing her official residence in spreading rumours against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, BJP national vice-president Purushottam Rupala said, “Shabnam Hashmi's NGO Anhad is being run from the official residence of Saeda Hameed to spread misinformation against Modi and the Gujarat government.

Rupala sought to cancel the allotment of Saeda Hameed’s official residence at New Delhi.

Shabnam Hashmi, who has been criticising Modi for a long time, is running Anhad from Hameed’s official residence. Neither Hashmi nor Hameed denies this fact.

On being asked, Planning Commission member said, “I have allowed Hashmi to run Anhad from the garage of the bungalow given its contribution in the social and cultural fields.”

Meanwhile, Rupala alleged that Hashmi has been misinformation propaganda against Modi not only in India but also in abroad. That’s why, the UPA government had appointed her as members to five committees including Central Education Advisory Board.
