Fresh foreign funds inflow supported the local currency, but dollar's strength against others overseas capped the rupee's gain.

The rupee had logged this year's biggest single-day gain of 57 paise to close at a nearly three-week high of 67.85 in yesterday's session on fresh selling of dollars in view of a sharp recovery in domestic stocks.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex regained the crucial 24,000-mark by surging 431.27 points, or 1.81 percent, to trade at 24,210.62 in morning trade.
