Selling of the American currency by exporters and banks supported the rupee, but dollar's strength against other currencies overseas capped the gains, dealers said.
Besides, a higher opening in domestic equity market helped the rupee, they added.The rupee had shed four paise at 63.81 against the US dollar in Friday's trade on sustained demand for the American
currency from banks and importers.
Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex recovered by 62.59 points, or 0.22 percent, to trade at 28,298.98 in morning trade.
