The dollar was firm against some global currencies which also weighed on the rupee, dealers said.

Yesterday, the local currency ended 6 paise lower at 67.11 a dollar on fag-end demand for the US dollar from banks and importers on the back of higher greenback in the overseas market.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE Sensex fell by 60.95 points or 0.25 percent to 24,743.33 in morning trade.
