Forex dealers said euro's gains against US dollar in the overseas market also supported the rupee. The domestic currency had gained five paise to close at 62.07 in Monday's trade amid a rise in stock markets.
    
Meanwhile, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 96.90 points, or 0.47 percent, to 20,908.34 in the morning trade on Tuesday.
