Besides, strengthening of the euro against the dollar overseas also supported the rupee, dealers said. The rupee had closed one paisa higher at 62.30 against the dollar on Tuesday as exporters sold US currency.

Meanwhile, the benchmark BSE index Sensex opened higher by 79.79 points, or 0.38 percent, to 20,773,03 in morning trade on Wednesday.
