Moscow: Russia plans to sell its most advanced atomic energy technologies on its own or in cooperation with other leading countries, according to a top government official.

"Russia has the possibility to sell its technologies abroad. We will seek to make these technologies as safe as possible. The government provides large amounts of funding for the development of the atomic energy industry," First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said yesterday while on a visit to the Atomexpo-2011 international forum that has opened in Moscow.

"The third forum is taking place at a time when everyone is concerned about the future of nuclear power engineering after events at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant," Shuvalov said.
